Course Content

Students are introduced to state-of-the-art theoretical chemistry methods and concepts through a series of (video) lectures by experts in the field.   

These lectures are intended to broaden the view of the students on various specialized areas of theoretical chemistry. 

 

Possible topics include: 

  • Valence bond methods 

  • Quantum monte carlo 

  • Relativistic quantum chemistry 

  • Density Matrix Renormalization Group 

  • Reactivity of periodic systems

  • assignment, oral exam with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

The evaluation exists of the grade obtained for an assignment of one of the topics treated during the lectures and its discussion at the oral exam.
