Course Content

- Translation of journalistic and other texts of different nature from Spanish into Dutch and vice versa.

- Emphasis is put on texts that also contain factual information on Spain and Latin America.

Learning Outcomes

Eindcompetenties

At the end of this course, students are able to translate texts from Dutch into Spanish at the  B2 level and at a native level from Spanish into Dutch.

 

Doelstellingen

At the end of this course students will have improved, through translation exercises, their knowledge of Spanish, bettered their Dutch and will have acquired background knowledge on various cultural and political aspects of the Spanish-speaking world.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Schriftelijk examen with a relative weight of 10 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

    Note: In second session 100% written exam

Additional info regarding evaluation

The exam consists in the translation of one or more texts.
