The course addresses various specific topics related to labour law, offering students the opportunity to acquire specialist and thorough knowledge in this particular field. Moreover, the lectures provide tools that enable the student to critically approach the topics discussed as well as to resolve complex cases, taking into account the most recent legislation, case law and/or legal doctrine.
The topics covered in the course may vary from one academic your to another and depend on the most recent developments both at national, European or international level in, for example, legislation and case law.
As an example, below a list of topics that might be considered; specific types of employment, GDPR and privacy, termination of the employment contract, prescription, collective bargaining agreements, industrial action, etc.
Topical social and political developments related to labour law are included into the lectures in a structured manner. The student is therefore expected to follow up on topical labour law issues.
An extensive reader will be provided by the lecturer. This reader, i.e. a set of documents, enables the student to process the lectures more easily.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
Oral exam with written preparation. The use of unannotated codes and/or statutes is allowed.
