Course Content

This course will consist of a selection of hot topics in international, European or comparative company and association law. The topics will be chosen in view of the following parameters: (i) international resonance, (ii) potential for discussion and debate, (iii) interdisciplinary elements (law and economics in particular); (iv) richness in comparative law insights; and (v) topicality. A maximum of four to five topics are selected each academic year, so as to allow room for depth and discussion. The topics are mainly chosen from two interconnecting fields: European company and association law and comparative company and association law. The former concerns matters that are subject to European legal instruments as such (treaty provisions, directives, cases,…) while the latter focuses on the comparative law study of national rules. At least one topic per year will include a guest lecture by a reputed speaker in the field.
