Course Content

In its broadest form the course deals with the applied ethical domain of business ethics, departing from the question to what extent business practices can live up to fundamental ethical questions. After having dealt with the three main traditional ethical movements and their relevance for business ethics, some specific themes come to the fore, such as bureaucracy, capitalism, global capital, whistleblowing,...). Besides traditional ethicists (Aristotle, Kant, Bentham, Mill, Levinas) other contemporary auhtors are treated that have special relevance for business ethics such as Bauman, Solomon, Bowie, MacIntyre, Sloterdijkm Løgstrup...

Learning Outcomes

General competences

At the end of the course students should have competence in business-ethical themes treated during the semester. To that end they should be able to process the subject matter taught during the courses and process the literature that has been made available.
