Course Content

This course is composed of several interactive sessions, each covering a different topic related to bioethics. Each session includes an introduction by the lecturer and a panel of students followed by a debate involving all students. In addition, each student prepares an essay on a contemporary bioethical subject.

The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge about bio-ethics and recognize the implications in a scientific and societal context.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
LEC Presentation determines 40% of the final mark.
SELF Paper determines 60% of the final mark.

Within the LEC Presentation category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Contribution to session/debate with a relative weight of 40 which comprises 40% of the final mark.

Within the SELF Paper category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Essay with a relative weight of 60 which comprises 60% of the final mark.
