Course Content

Main drama genres in Hispanic theater: Tragedy, comedy, tragicomedy, melodrama, farse, “piece” and didactic drama.

Learning Outcomes

General competencies

The student can identify the characteristics of the main dramatic genres through some dramatical texts from Spain and Latin America.

The student can interpret and analyse the dramaturgical texts through the study and analysis of some of the most important Spanish-language drama authors.

The student can analyse the theatrical texts using the basic drama concepts.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
SELF Practical Assignment determines 30% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Mondeling examen with a relative weight of 70 which comprises 70% of the final mark.

    Note: Mondeling examen vertrekkende van enkele reflecterende vragen die vóór de zittijd zullen gedistribueerd worden en die de studenten zodoende zullen kunnen voorbereiden.

Within the SELF Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Schriftelijke taken with a relative weight of 30 which comprises 30% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

Oral examination based on some reflective questions distributed before the examination period in order to allow students to prepare themselves.

The permanent evaluation component (written assignments) cannot be transferred to the second session.
