Additional info regarding evaluation

First exam session:

Evaluation consists of the following components:

  • Oral presentation on a topic in research on SLA and ESL (group assignment; in the course of November/December; 30% of final mark)
  • Oral exam (individual; during first exam session; 70% of final mark)

In order to pass the course, it is required (a) to participate in both the oral presentation and the oral exam, and (b) to obtain at least 10/20 in total.

Students who obtain less than 7/20 on one of the two components of the evaluation cannot pass the course, regardless of their performance on the other evaluation component. In such cases, their final mark will correspond to the score obtained for the lowest evaluated component.

Second (resit) exam session:

Evaluation consists of the following components:

  • Oral presentation on a topic in research on SLA and ESL (individual; during second exam session; 30% of final mark)
  • Oral exam (individual; during second exam session; 70% of final mark)

In order to pass, it is (a) required to participate in both the oral presentation and the oral exam, and (b) to obtain at least 10/20 in total.

Students’ marks from an evaluation component from the first session will be transferred to the second session if they obtained at least 10/20 on this component.

Students who obtain less than 7/20 on one of the two components are not able to pass the course, regardless of their performance on the other evaluation component. In such cases, their final mark will correspond to the score obtained for the lowest evaluated component.
