Enrolling for this plan is also possible having completed the Preparatory Programme Master of Arts in Linguistics and Literary Studies.
Enrolling for this plan is also possible having completed the Bachelor of Linguistics and LiteraryStudies.
In order to complete the master’s programme (60 ECTS), students need to take:
1. Compulsory courses (24 ECTS): The master's thesis (18 ECTS), Research methodology (3 ECTS) and “Linguistics and Literary Studies in Brussels” (3 ECTS).
2. Language related courses (12 ECTS): Students can choose the courses in their selected language.
3. Profile related courses (24 ECTS): Students can choose the courses in their selected profile.
Within your profile, you can also choose from a special list of ULB courses (Max. 1 course, 6 ECTS). If you wish to make use of this possibility, you must submit your request via mail to faclw@vub.be.
The deadline is September 30 for courses of the first semester and February 15 for courses of the second semester.
The following courses are all compulsory. You should only register for the master thesis and research methodology course at the end of your program, when you are able to graduate. You are strongly advised to register the master thesis and the research methodology course together in the same academic year.

You can choose elective courses for a total of 36 ECTS. 12 Of those 36 ECTS must be within the language module of your chosen language. 24 ECTS must be within your chosen profile.
