This course deals with the exploitation of renewable and non-renewable natural resources
and stock pollution problems.
We use bio-economic models to investigate optimal exploitation decisions for the use of
renewable resources. We investigate the economic and environmental sustainability
implications of these exploitation decisions. We analyse the implications of different
property regimes for sustainable resource exploitation and investigate the policy options
for sustainable resource management. We use examples from different resources systems,
such as fisheries and forests.
We study the theory of optimal non-renewable resources extraction and of related dynamic
stock pollution problems.
