Course Content

Objective: In this module the research that will be carried out in Masterthesis part 2, will be prepared .

Topics & Supervisor: At the start of the first semester, the student receives a list of research topics. The students can choose a topic from this list that is linked to the subject of their master’s programme and/or their subject specific pedagogy. The student constructs a research plan and presents it to supervisor(s), peers and members of the academic staff.

Guidance by the teacher training program: In the course of the academic year, the teacher training programme organises research seminars in order to inform students about subject-specific and pedagogical research, education- specific research-paradigms and research methods.

Guidance by the supervisor: During the orientation (first semester), student and supervisor have a first meeting about the research subject and the content of the research plan. Among other things it is determined in what way the educational relevance can be realized and how the practical implementation may take place. In addition, agreements are also made with regards to the process (deadlines, guidance moments, seminars to be followed, etc).

A manual with additional information (deadlines, formatting rules, assessment and deviating (format) agreements specific to a research domain) may be found in the course room of this module on CANVAS.
