Learning Outcomes

Algemene competenties

Understanding the main approaches to / methods of reasoning in normative ethics. Being able to apply these methods of reasoning to specific ethical problems arising in the field of medicine, with a particular focus on problems relating to elderly people, especially moral questions concerning the end of life.

 

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 60% of the final mark.
LEC Practical Assignment determines 40% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Written exam with a relative weight of 60 which comprises 60% of the final mark.

Within the LEC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Continuous evaluation with a relative weight of 40 which comprises 40% of the final mark.

    Note: Continuous evaluation based on practical tasks: these tasks should be returned at least one week before the date (see later) of the written exam by e-mail.

English:

A. Written exam:  (12 points).
B. Continuous evaluation on the basis of practical tasks (8 points).

In exceptional circumstances a student can submit a motivated request to the head of the programm in order to be allowed to take an online exam.
