Gaining knowledge in the psychological and psychopathological aspects of aging;
knowing the psychosocial theories concerning aging;
being able to describe the life course and the aging process based upon the development theories.
Understanding that aging is not only related to the chronological age of the subject, but that it also has a psychosocial dimension in which the environment, adaptation, and coping play important roles;
gaining an evidence based insight in psychological and psychopathological aspects of ageing.

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 50% of the final mark.
PRAC Presentation determines 50% of the final mark.

Oral Exam determines 50% of the final mark and PRACTICUM Oral presentation determines 50% of the final mark.
In exceptional circumstances a student can submit a motivated request to the head of the programm in order to be allowed to take an online exam.
Within the PRACTICUM oral presentation category, the following assignments need to be completed: 2 oral presentations with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 50% of the final mark.
Note: 2 oral presentations (50%) focussing on a psychogerontological and a psychogeriatric theme (to be selected from a provided topic list).
The student only succeeds when successful in each part. Scores of at least 10/20 for one part can be transmitted to later examinations.
Het eindcijfer is samengesteld uit de volgende delen:
Mondeling Examen bepaalt 50% van het eindcijfer en WPO Mondeling presentatie bepaalt 50% van het eindcijfer.
Binnen het WPO mondelinge presentatie dienen volgende taken uitgevoerd te worden: 2 mondelinge presentaties met een relatief gewicht van 1, en 50% uitmaakt van het eindcijfer.
Nota: 2 mondelinge presentaties (50%) met een psychogerontologisch en een psychogeriatrisch thema (te selecteren van een voorziene lijst).
De student kan enkel slagen indien beide delen succesvol afgelegd worden. Scores van minstens 10/20 voor 1 deel kunnen overgedragen worden naar latere examensessies.
