Course Content

The objective of this course is to provide an overview of the main concepts in management and HRM.

The course covers the following topics:

- Introduction to the principles of management
- Overview of management theories
- Developing mission, vision, and values
- Organizational structure and change
- Leading people and organizations
- Introduction to strategic management
- Decision Making
- The essentials of control
- Introduction to HRM

After this course, students should be able to:

  • explain the various theories studied;
  • identify the complementarity and differences of various theories studied;
  • apply  these theories in specific case environments.

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Written Exam with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

The written exam (100% closed book) is composed of 3 parts, each of them of equal weight:

  • 3 open questions;
  • 15 true-false questions, with guess correction;
  • 15 multiple-choice questions, with guess correction.

The final score of the exam is the sum of the above-mentioned 3 parts.
