- A survey of algebra, trigonometry and pre-calculus: functions of one variable, conic sections, goniometry, systems of equations and inequalities;
- An overview of optimization techniques, including function analysis (limits, continuity, asymptotes), derivatives and graph sketching techniques;
- The basics of primitive functions and definite integrals;
- An introduction to sequences and series.

General competences
With regard to elementary concepts related to functions of one variable (domain, continuity, limits, asymptotes), and more advanced mathematical concepts, such as derivatives, integration, optimisation, sequences and series, the students are able to:
- explain in own words;
- clarify by means of a graph;
- explain by means of an example;
- produce logical proofs;
- use and apply in an exercise;
- analyse in the context of a given exercise or graph;
- combine concepts in order to solve a questions that cover multiple themes;
- reflect and think critically in order to evaluate and correct;
- to prove simple economic relations;
- translate economic questions and problems into the accurate mathematical question;
- to solve questions and problems in a well-structured and accurate way.

Examen Schriftelijk bepaalt 100% van het eindcijfer
Binnen de categorie Examen Schriftelijk dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

en aldus 100% van het totale eindcijfer.

100% written exam (50% theory and 50% exercises).
