In this course, students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding technologies that are used by language professionals (in particular: translation professionals). Students learn to work with translation memory, terminology management and corpus analysis software, among other things. They learn how to create and manage terminology databases and translation memories and are introduced to a range of translation-related computer applications. Basic functionalities of computer-assisted translation tools (CAT tools) are mainly demonstrated through SDL Trados Studio, but other systems are also covered in this course.
