Students must have taken 'Nederlands: communicatieve vaardigheden II', before they can enroll in 'Nederlands: communicatieve vaardigheden III'​. Enrolling in 'Nederlands: communicatieve vaardigheden III' also means that you simultaneously take the bachelorpaper or have successfully passed the bachelorpaper.​ If you are enrolled in a preparatory programme you can register this course without restrictions.

Course Content

Building on knowledge and skills acquired in Nederlands: communicatieve vaardigheden I en Nederlands: communicatieve vaardigheden II, students improve their written and oral proficiency in Dutch. The writing component of the course focuses on academic literacy skills in function of the BA thesis. Additionally, the students learn to communicate scientific research non-specialists. The oral proficiency component of the course is concerned with conversation skills.

Goals writing proficiency:

- Students can describe the key features of popularising and specialised scientific texts (in particular of the BA thesis) and can apply these in the texts they produce independently.

- Students are able to critically evaluate their own academic and popularising writing, as well as that of others and can revise texts accordingly.

Goals oral proficiency:

- Students can discuss the key aspects of high quality conversation (e.g. with regards to verbal and non-verbal communication, listening skills or interaction) and their relevance for the conversation genres covered in this OO.

- Students can apply the key aspects of high quality conversation in their own interactions for the conversations genres covered in this OO.

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:

Within the Other Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • EXM with a relative weight of 20 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

    Note: Permanente evaluatie aan de hand van opdrachten doorheen het semester. Tweede examenkans: de student dient alle opdrachten waarvoor hij geen voldoende haalde opnieuw in.

In order to pass this course, the student has to obtain a score of at least 10/20 for the oral part of the permantent evaluation, as well as for the written part of the permanent evaluation.
