Inhoud

The course examines the most important topics of competition policy from an economic, but also interdisciplinary perspective. It covers collusion, horizontal and vertical anticompetitive agreements as well as abuse of dominance, merger policy and state aid control. Next to reviewing the most important rules and policy documents, we build a framework for understanding firm behaviour in imperfectly competitive markets as well as its welfare implications. Next to theoretical frameworks, all topics are studied by means of real cases.
