Course Content

In the context of sport policy and sport management, it is important to find out what expertise contains social value to meet certain needs in society. We have identified this expertise in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This course deals with the subject of CSR with attention for the social value of sport for target groups and organisations.

In this course, Service Learning is integrated and applied to set up a CSR project in collaboration with social actors. Service Learning contains three components that logically follow each other throughout the academic year: 1) theoretical component with lectures on CSR to familiarize students with the theoretical principles of CSR; 2) practical component where students set up a CSR project in collaboration with a professional (sport) organization (at minimum the conceptual phase); 3) purposeful reflection component to evaluate the learning process.
