Course Content

The student becomes acquainted with the specific properties of various domains in news journalism (politics, economics, social, culture, sports, etc.) - First we analyse a journalistic domain based on typical examples. Basic journalistic rules are drawn from that analysis.
-Then the student is given ample opportunity to develop his/her own journalistic talent in these domains. Students make news items for radio and television in small groups. They run through the whole production process (from news and information gathering (research), searching for discussion partners, to recording, editing, writing texts and reading them in).
- We also cover the use of foreign languages and subtitles.
- The finished products are evaluated critically by lecturers and students. The student’s attitude is important (can he/she deal with criticism and can he/she work in a group).
[current events] The student ensures that he/she is broadly informed about current events based on newspapers, magazines, radio and television programmes. If necessary he/she seeks out background information.
