3 ECTS credits
90 h study time
Offer 1 with catalog number 4018435FNR for all students in the 2nd semester at a (F) Master - specialised level.
The student becomes acquainted with the specific properties of various journalistic genres. In addition to the reader and the news reportages, they also learn to make a portrait, a background story, a column or blog, an in-depth reportage, and a tourism reportage.
- First we analyse a journalistic genre based on typical examples. Basic journalistic rules are drawn from that analysis.
-Then the student is given ample opportunity to develop his/her own journalistic talent in these genres.
- The students make all these genres, either in small groups or individually. They run through the whole production process (from news and information gathering (research), information acquisition and searching for discussion partners, to recording, editing, writing texts and reading them in).
- We also cover the use of music and of image and sound fragments.
- The finished products are evaluated critically by lecturers and students. The student’s attitude is important (can he/she deal with criticism and can he/she work in a group). Various journalistic genres are also applied in the radio project entitled “XL Air”.
[current events] The student ensures that he/she is broadly informed about current events based on newspapers, magazines, radio and television programmes. If necessary he/she seeks out background information.
