The course concerns 5 subdisciplines of Biological sciences:
- General Biology. Micro-organisms, Animals, Plants.
- Molecular Biology and Genetics. Origin of life, DNA-technology, GMO’s.
- Evolution. To documentate the unifying concept of Biology: Evolution. Historical and modern theories about evolution, processes, hypothesis.
- Ecology. Ecosystems: origin, development, abiotic and biotic factors. Analysis of terms as biomass, production, consumption.
- Balanced food and food safety.

- To use ecological terms correctly. To implementate ecological terms in Biology and the transmission of this concepts to Commercial Engineer and other disciplines.
- Being able to implement Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO-norms and HACCP-regulation in the food industry.

Practical Exam determines 25% of the final mark.
