Objectives




  1. Understand the difference between the legal (based on public consensus, or imposed by the authorities), the moral (based on religious rules deduced from instructions given by a transcendent authority), and the ethical approach (based on the individual perception of the value of the ethical issues at stake), to decision making in disaster situations.


  2. Explain international legal and regulatory issues related to disasters and complex humanitarian emergencies.


  3. Analyse concrete examples of ethical questions through general ethical reasoning, based on the weight of the values to be preserved in the decision making process.


  4. Analyse concrete examples of ethical questions through the application of the moral rules, imposed by different religions.

De beoordeling bestaat uit volgende opdrachtcategorieën:
