Algemene competenties

Objectives




  1. Learn the features and objectives of emergency medicine, and delineate the similarities and differences between emergency medical care in everyday emergencies and in disaster situations.


  2. Learn the differences between accidents and disasters and the basic characteristics of disaster medicine, to develop an understanding of the need of education in disaster medicine and to stimulate research in disaster medicine.


  3. Assess the gravity of disasters, to evaluate the medical severity of a disaster and to estimate the medical requirements in the disaster preparedness and response phase.


  4. Learn to assess the impact of disasters, to rapidly evaluate the public health severity and response to a disaster, to rapidly estimate the medical needs of communities affected by a disaster, to institute data collection systems during and following a disaster.


  5. Learn basic principles of epidemiology and biostatistics and how to use epidemiological indicators to monitor community health services and to evaluate their impact.

De beoordeling bestaat uit volgende opdrachtcategorieën:

Binnen de categorie Examen Andere dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

  • Final exam met een wegingsfactor 1 en aldus 50% van het totale eindcijfer.

Binnen de categorie HOC Praktijkopdracht dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

  • Test met een wegingsfactor 1 en aldus 50% van het totale eindcijfer.
