Course Content

In this course, different theories of health-communication will be given, this on macro level (information to groups).  General concepts i.e. source, message, channel and recipient will be explained, as well as the different forms of communication, such as informative, educative and persuasive. Especially concerning the last concept, there’ll be an elaboration on some dynamic models of behavioral change.
Besides this, the student will be asked to develop a communication strategy for a health problem with a specific target group. Based on a description of the problem and the detailed description of the target group, together with the content of the classes, students come to a communication strategy. This will be presented at the end of the course.
Next to the content, there’s given specific attention to some competences: scientific writing and presenting.
