The banking sector is going through a fundamental transition process. Technology, liberalisation of capital markets and globalisation of the world economy change fundamentally the environment in which financial intermediaries operate. This process of change is even more fundamental within the European Union, where the single currency and the political goal of financial integration push banks even stronger towards cross border strategies. The course will give an overview of the new environment for banks, and its consequences on bank organisations, products and strategies.
