First, a general introduction is given to the traditional and cognitive perception and interpretation strategies of creativity in general and specifically poetry. Then, it is investigated how these theories contribute to the study of related forms of expression, such as novels, theatre, song, opera, film, or graphic and plastic arts, .
For the exercise section, students are asked to write a paper in which they apply a part of the theory in a text corpus of their choice.
Subject 2022-2023 : the intermedial relationship between poetry, theatre and film by Jean Cocteau.
Subject 2023-2024 : sociological approach of French "chanson".
This course is taught in French. A course textbook is available at the start of the course.

The study of the perception and interpretation strategies of poetic texts and related forms of expression (alternating sections about poetry - graphic arts - plastic arts - song and sections about poetry - novels - theatre - opera - film).
The students are able to recognize, to explain, to place in a broader context and to apply a theory to an unseen literary text or intermedial artwork.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 20% of the final mark.

The paper is submitted before the beginning of the examinationperiod and discussed during the oral exam. Students who are studying other languages than French are allowed to follow this course and to write their paper in their own language.
