Offer 1 with catalog number 4020136FNR for all students in the 1st semester at a (F) Master - specialised level.
This course focuses on the study of intermediality in theatre and performance and provides insight into intermediality’s role in developing and diversifying (historical) theatre and performance practices by means of examples of 20th- and 21st-century stage works (e.g. theatre of images, expanded cinema, multimedial theatre, dance theatre, music theatre, documentary theatre). Three theatre visits are obligatory as part of the course so as to enable students to explore Brussels’ international theatre and performance scene. Students are encouraged to relate and compare the performances they see to the examples analysed in class.

· Secondly, students will be asked to give a short (group) presentation in class (10%) to prepare the discussion in class.
