The course is designed to study the basic principles of management, including the functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. In addition to a critical analysis of the key concepts and theories of management, the course will cover a range of contemporary subjects such as ethics, entrepreneurship, leadership, and global business. Short cases, applications, and guest lectures will supplement the theory, so students learn to apply theories and concepts to a more practical setting of everyday business life.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Distinguish among the various aspects of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
- Understand what managers do and how they respond to a changing environment.
- Apply management theories and concepts to everyday business situations.
- Understand an organization’s internal and external environment and the impact on decision-making.
- Analyze and interpret aspects of management in a critical and creative way.
- Consider and solve management-related problems from a multicultural and diverse perspective.
- Show a sense of lifelong learning by following up on the topic of management in a non-class environment.
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:
Closed-book written exam, consisting of open-ended questions, sentence completion, true-or-false statements (with correction for guessing), and exercises/applications.
