Inhoud

This course is the continuation of Chinese Proficiency 1. Students continue to develop in all four areas of language skills (i.e. speaking, listening, reading and writing), within which a strong emphasis is placed on the development of speaking skills. At the end of the course, students should master a minimal vocabulary of 360 words (combined in approximately 600 words) and basic to intermediate grammatical constructions.

This course requires an estimated total of 150 study hours, including lecturing time, class practice and self-study. This course offers 4 contact hours per week. Attendance is strongly encouraged to guarantee positive learning outcomes.

Algemene competenties

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have developed the following language skills in Mandarin Chinese:
Oral:
• Students have a fluent and accurate Chinese Mandarin pronunciation (syllables and tones)
• Students are able to talk about themselves and ask about others (e.g. hobbies, holiday plans, work situation, likes and dislikes, routines)
• Students can correctly use intermediate grammar: prohibitions, conditions, asking any type of numerical information, verb diminutives, object displacement, result complements, comparisons
• Students can apply language in specific contexts, e.g. hotel front desk & general services, doctor visits, negotiation, expression of opinions
Written:
• Students can recognise and read 360 characters of the HSK 1 and HSK 2 level.
• Students can write 360 characters of HSK 1 and HSK 2 levels and apply them in written sentences.
• Students are able read and interact with texts consisting of HSK 1 and 2 vocabulary exclusively with Chinese characters.

Beoordelingsinformatie

De beoordeling bestaat uit volgende opdrachtcategorieën:
Examen Mondeling bepaalt 80% van het eindcijfer

Examen Andere bepaalt 20% van het eindcijfer

Binnen de categorie Examen Mondeling dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

mondeling examen met een wegingsfactor 80 en aldus 80% van het totale eindcijfer.

Toelichting: Het totaalcijfer bestaat voor 80% uit het mondelinge examen aan het einde van het semester.

Binnen de categorie Examen Andere dient men volgende opdrachten af te werken:

permanentie evaluaties met een wegingsfactor 20 en aldus 20% van het totale eindcijfer.

Toelichting: Het totaalcijfer bestaat voor 20% uit permanente evaluatie op basis van wekelijkse schrijftaken

Aanvullende info mbt evaluatie

Examens in Augustus of September: Permanente evaluatie overgedragen van voorbije semester (20%). Huidige evaluatie op basis van mondeling examen (80%).
