Course Content

Study and interpretation of clinical scientific research concerning diagnostic means and syndromes that are dealt with during internships and relate to the final objectives as defined under “physician” level expert plus.

WORKING METHODS 

  • Participate in clinical studies in the department of the internship (department of specific studies or support the studies of clinical specialties) 

  • Course cycles postgraduate Clinical Biology, Internal Medecine, Pediatrics (1h/week on a yearly basis) 

  • Symposia organized by scientific associations of Clinical Biology (BVBK and BVKC), microbiology and infectiology (BVIKM) or other specialties (3 full days per year) 

  • National and international symposia and congresses in consultation with the coordinator and educational committee

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 50% of the final mark.
SELF Practical Assignment determines 50% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Jury examen with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: examen via ondervraging door de jury Klinische Biologie over documenten, standard operating procedures uit kwaliteitshandboek.

Within the SELF Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Portfolio with a relative weight of 50 which comprises 50% of the final mark.

    Note: portfolio met functioneringsgesprek

Additional info regarding evaluation
  • Portfolio with performance interview (50%). 

  • Exam: questioning by the jury of Clinical Biology on documents and SOPs from the quality handbook (50%).
