The student is familiar with scientific research tools, is aware of both the possibilities and limitations of (their own) scientific research, and can actively use research to address social issues.

The student knows most common qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and analytical possibilities within the social sciences.

After thoroughly reviewing the course, students should be able to:

  • Explain specific methodological terminology.
  • Apply the course material to a given research problem.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Examen schriftelijk with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

Additional info regarding evaluation

The multiple-choice exam will be scored by positive scoring with Higher Cesuur. So no points will be deducted for a wrong answer. On the other hand, gaining marks by guessing will be factored into the final score by increasing the pass mark (= cesuur).  The cesuur for the exam and the exact conversion table will be communicated on Canvas and in the exam instructions.
