Introducing the basic principles in the field of scientific literature and primary sources.
What is Historical Research? The main concepts will explained and the basic skills will be taught.
This is implemented in an intensive initial period with three modules of one week each.
At a date in December determined at each strat of the semester, all assignments for which the students have not passed must be resubmitted..

The students can apply correctly the basic historical research skills in practical assignments (identifying, selecting and acquiring archives and scientific literature, literature) correctly.
The students can recognize the main source types.
The students know their way around libraries and archive collection relevant for history
Students know how ta hadle access instruments for libraries and archives, bibliographies, literature reviews, source series and databases
The students have insight into the historical craft
The students recognize types of literature
The students can refer correctly
The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
SELF Practical Assignment determines 100% of the final mark.
Within the SELF Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:
Assignments are planned for every module to control all the basic skills of the student.
Pass or fail for each sub-assignment. A pass is required for all assignments to pass the course.
In the second exam session, only the parts for which the student failed must be remade.
