Course Content

In the subject of primary care psychology, we deal with primary care psychological functioning and interventions with a special focus on transdiagostic factors. From the perspective of primary care, we pay attention to the necessary elements such as stepped care and matched care, the role of the primary care psychologist and the importance of triage. Three capita selecta are highlighted, namely the KOP model, work resumption and e-health.

Extra information:

Skills with regards to first line psychology and interactional skills are trained using, for instance, role play and assignments. A special focus is put onto the reflective skills with regards to the role as a first line psychologist and your position as a professional.

    General competences

    The student has insight into:

    • The importance of referral and methods thereof;

    Grading

    The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
    PRAC Report determines 100% of the final mark.

    Within the PRAC Report category, the following assignments need to be completed:

    • Permanent evaluation with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.

    Additional info regarding evaluation

    A permanent evaluation will be used.

    The permanent evaluation consists of:

    • Going through the different themes (via presence during the lessons or a substitution assignment in the framework of force majeure);
    • Delivering a reflection report. The details of which the reflection report must consist of will be communicated via Canvas.

     

    Explanation:

    The final grade will consist of a peer assessment (40%) and an assessment by the teacher (60%). The student who did not participate in each part of the permanent evaluations, will receive an Absence for the entire course unit.

    The scoring matrix on which the peer assessment is based will be made available via Canvas at the start of the peer assessment.

    When you take this course during 2nd session, you can start working with the digital material. The assessment for the reflection report may be different in the second session. In case there are not enough students to realise the peer assessment, the final grade will consist of 100% assessment by the teacher.

    Allowed unsatisfactory mark
    The supplementary Teaching and Examination Regulations of your faculty stipulate whether an allowed unsatisfactory mark for this programme unit is permitted.
