Students must have followed ‘Physical Geograph’, before they can enroll for ‘Paleoclimatology’. Enrolling in ‘Paleoclimatology’ means also that you simultaneously follow 'Climatology and Meteorology' or have successfully passed ‘Climatology and Meteorology’.

Learning Outcomes

General competencies

Understand palaeoclimates and their main causes.

Understand the main methods to reconstruct past climates
Understand the main mechanisms put forward to explain the ice ages.
Understand the role of orbital variations to produce spatio-temporal insolation changes.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
PRAC Practical Assignment determines 30% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • examen mondel with a relative weight of 1 which comprises 70% of the final mark.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:
