Offer 1 with catalog number 4018347DNR for all students in the 2nd semester at a (D) Master - preliminary level.
After a short introduction in health promotion, special attention is given to the determinants of health behaviour such as physical activity and sedentary behavior (intrapersonal, psychosocial and environmental variables). The most important theories (Health Belief Model, Theory of Reasoned Action, Theory of Planned Behaviour, ASE-model, Self-determination Theory) used to explain why people are (not) physically active are explained. Strategies and techniques used within the health promotion context to change behavior are discussed and applied (introduction to intervention mapping). Interview skills to motivate individuals for behaviour change (motivational interviewing). Students develop a health promotion intervention using the intervention mapping protocol as a group assignment.
