Enrolling for this plan is also possible having completed the Preparatory Programme Master of Arts in Linguistics and Literary Studies.

Enrolling for this plan is also possible having completed the Bachelor of Linguistics and LiteraryStudies.

Overview of the study plan

In addition to the Master's thesis (18 ECTS) and the research methodology course (3 ECTS), the student is obliged to take the Brussels subject (3 ECTS) and choose 1 language of which at least 12 ECTS per chosen language and 24 ECTS within the chosen profile.
Within the profile Intermediality, the languages German, English, Dutch, French, Italian and Spanish can also be chosen from a special list of ULB course units (Max. 1 course, 6 ECTS)

First Semester

Second Semester
- Méthodologie de la culture et de la musique populaires (Prof. C. Den Tandt) FRENCH

Students who wish to make use of this possibility must submit their request via the form 'request equivalent study parts ULB LW', which can be found on the faculty website STUDENT.VUB (regulations and forms) and this until 30 September for courses of the first semester and 15 February for courses of the second semester.


Compulsory Courses: literary studies

The following courses are all compulsory. You should only register for the master thesis and research methodology course at the end of your program, when you are able to graduate. You are strongly advised to register the master thesis and the research methodology course together in the same academic year.

You can choose elective courses for a total of 36 ECTS. At least 12 of those 36 ECTS must be within the language module of your chosen language.
